Configure forced putaway locations in DeltaWMS

How to restrict RF users from changing suggested putaway locations and set up supervisor override permissions.

Overview

Forced putaway restricts RF users from changing the suggested putaway location. When users don't have permissions to change locations, they must contact their supervisor to make the change for them.

This article explains how to configure forced putaway restrictions and set up supervisor override permissions.

Configure forced putaway restrictions

To enable forced putaway for an account, you need to configure the task parameters in DeltaWMS.

  1. Click the RDT Control tab.

  2. Click Maintain Task Parameters.

  3. Click the + button next to Site to open it.

  4. Click the + button next to the Account to open it.

  5. Click Putaway.

  6. Select the Force Putaway Location checkbox.

  7. Click OK.

The system now restricts RF users from changing putaway locations for this account and site.

Set up supervisor override permissions

Supervisors need specific permissions to override forced putaway restrictions and change locations when required.

  1. Click the User Maintenance tab.

  2. Click RDT User Maintenance.

  3. Open the supervisor's user record.

  4. Select the Override Force Putaway checkbox.

  5. Click OK.

The supervisor can now override forced putaway restrictions when users need to change locations.

How RF users experience forced putaway

When forced putaway is active, RF users without override permissions cannot change the suggested location.

If an RF user enters a different location code, they'll see this message:

'Invalid Location. Putaway must be to suggested location'

The user must click OK to return to the previous screen and enter the suggested location code.

If the user needs to change the location, they must:

  1. Press F2 to exit the task.

  2. Contact their supervisor.

  3. Wait for the supervisor to change the putaway location.

  4. Continue with their remaining tasks.

How supervisors override putaway locations

When a supervisor needs to change a putaway location, they follow these steps:

  1. Enter the alternative location code.

  2. Press Enter.

  3. Click YES when you see 'Override putaway Location?'

  4. Select a reason (for example, LOCBLOCKED).

  5. Press Enter.

  6. Press NXT to confirm and move to the next task.

The supervisor has now successfully changed the putaway location.
