What is this import?

The Product Data import creates or updates product records in Access Delta WMS. It supports a wide range of stock attributes and product configurations, including kitting and Bill of Materials (BOM).

Important: If you are updating existing products and they use Unit of Measure (UOM) settings, you must include all UOM fields in your file. If you leave them out, the system will reset them to defaults.

Testing: When testing, do not send files with more than 100 products.

Before you start

Discuss advanced features (kitting, BOM) with your Delta WMS implementation team before building your file
Product lines must contain exactly 100, 116, or 128 fields — no other lengths are valid

File structure

The Product Import file uses a header line format. Each product record starts with a header line (denoted by "P" in Column 1), followed by optional sub-records for alternative product codes, colours, sizes, kits, and BOM components.

Important: Alternative Product Codes in the import file replace all existing codes linked to that product. Your file must include every Alternative Product Code you want to keep. Any codes not included will be removed.

Troubleshooting

If your import fails, check:

Columns 1–4 are present and correct (record type, data type, product code, description)
Your file has exactly 100, 116, or 128 fields per product line
UOM fields are all included if you are updating existing products
Kit and BOM component product codes already exist in the system
