If you have invoicing set up for a customer, you can follow this guide to run their invoices. This includes generating charges, reviewing them, making any necessary amendments, and creating the final invoice. You'll need to have invoicing configured for the customer account before you begin—see our separate guide on setting up basic invoicing for details.
Generate the charges
Before you create an invoice, you'll need to generate the charges for the customer account or invoice group.
Click the 3PL tab at the top of Delta.
Click Invoices.
Select the account or invoice group.
Select which options you would like to invoice for: RHD, Rental, Sundry, or Flat rate.
Enter a calculate date.
Important: Don't enter a date in the future, as this may affect future charges.
Click the Generate Charges button.
Click Yes when asked if you want to generate the charges.
You'll be asked if you want to overwrite any charges that may already have been created.
Click Yes to create a new set of charges.
Click No to keep all existing charges and add the new ones to them.
You'll be notified if there are any outstanding putaways. If you're happy to continue, click OK.
Delta will generate charges for these accounts and confirm this has been successful.
View the charge report
After generating charges, you can view them in a report to check they're correct.
Click View Charges.
Select a report to view the charges in.
Run the report.
Check the charges and make sure they look correct.
Amend charges (if applicable)
If you need to make changes to any charges, you can amend them before creating the invoice.
Click the Amend Charges button.
Select the line you want to amend and make your changes.
Click OK to save.
Create the invoice
Once you've checked everything is correct, you can create the invoice.
Warning: It's not possible to roll back an invoice once it's been created.
Click the Create Invoice button.
Click Yes when asked if you're sure.
Enter an invoice date.
Note: This date will appear at the top of the invoice report.
Click OK. Delta will create the invoice.
View the invoice
You can view the invoice you've created by running the invoice report.
Click the Stock Maintenance tab at the top of Delta.
Click Reports.
Open your user account.
Open the Reports folder.
Open the Report folder.
Open the Invoice Report folder.
Select an invoice report and click Run.
If you know the invoice number, enter it. If not, click the magnifying glass icon, then click the magnifying glass icon next to the Customer ref section and select the customer. This will show all invoices for that customer.
Select the invoice in question and click OK. Delta will display the invoice.
