We are pleased to announce the release of Access DeltaWMS version 9.13.0. This release introduces Fluid Pickfaces, enabling warehouse operators to assign multiple pickface locations per product, with dynamic RF switching and automatic replenishment support. A number of stability and data-integrity bug fixes are also included.
What's new?
The following features are included in this release.
Fluid Pickfaces
Enhancement allows multiple pickface locations to be assigned to a single product. RF users can dynamically switch between available pickfaces when picking stock, and the system handles automatic replenishment across these locations.
Amend Product Screen Changes
The Amend Product screen now displays the active pickface assignment for a product (if one is set).
Navigate to Location Details in the left-hand menu to view the pickface configuration.
The tree view shows all assigned pickface areas and their sites (e.g. PickFace > S01, S02).
When a site has an active pickface set, the site code appears in bold in the tree view, and the "Active
Pickface: [LocationCode]" label is displayed at the bottom of the panel showing the current active location.
How a product gets its active pickface
When a product is first assigned to a pickface area; the best location is automatically selected as the active pickface based on ranking:
o Stock quantity (DESC) — location with most stock is preferred
o Walk sequence (ASC)
o Aisle (ASC)
o Row (ASC)
o Column (ASC)
Can the Active Pickface Be Manually Updated?
Currently, the active pickface can only be changed via:
RF terminal — A picker can switch the active pickface during a picking task by selecting an alternative location. The > icon against the Start Location shows that the product is in a Pickface and pressing the Right key on the scanner will present the user with alternate pickface locations.
When the Active Pickface is changed, the pick location for any Tasks not currently Active will be moved to the new Pickface Location.
Replenishment with Multiple Pickfaces
When a product has a pickface defined, the replenishment process treats it differently from standard storage locations:
1. Stock identification — The system identifies all stock for the product, filtered to exclude pickface locations
(Area.AreaTypeID = 1). Only bulk/reserve stock is considered as the replenishment source.
2. Pickface stock calculation — For each pickface location in the area, the system calculates current stock.
3. Fill to max — The replenishment engine loops around pickface locations, calculating how much is required
to fill each location to its configured maximum (based on MaxItems, MaxWeight, MaxHeight, MaxPallets).
4. Active pickface priority — The active pickface location receives priority in the replenishment calculation.
Order demand is deducted from the active pickface's stock figure.
5. Multiple locations — If the area contains multiple locations, replenishment is calculated per-location. When
one pickface location is full (reaches MaxQty), the system moves to the next location in the area.
