Overview

You will have a master parent product, and then child kit component products can be added to this. An example would be a dining set, which is the parent, and the table and the chairs as the child products. On the parent product, you will add the amount of tables and chairs that are required to create one dining set.

How to do this:

  1. Log in to Delta.

  2. Click Product Maintenance.

  3. Select the parent product, for example, Dining set.

  4. In the Kits section, to add a new kit line, on the right, click the Plus + icon.

  5. Type the product code of the 1st kit, for example: Table. These child kit products will need to have been added as products into the system before you will be able to add them to this screen.

  6. Type the quantity, for example: 1.

  7. To add a second kit line, on the right, click the Plus + icon.

  8. Type the product code of the 2nd kit, for example: Chairs.

  9. Type the quantity, for example: 4.

  10. Click Apply to save.

There is the option to bring in either the master product or the child kit products; these child kit products can be brought in separately to then be picked together.

If you bring in the master parent product, this will work in the same way as putting away or picking another product in the system.

If you bring the child kit products in separately, this can then be built when picking the stock for an order.

The order would come in for the master product, and the system would look for this master product. If there are none in the system, it will then look to pick each kit child product(s). In this example, it will create a pick for 1 table and 4 chairs. The user will then pick these stock items, which will then build up the master parent product.

If there is no master product in the system and one of the KIT component items is not available, the order will show a short pick message.
