Overview
When you add a new order channel in Mintsoft, you need to create a matching order type in DeltaWMS to ensure orders process correctly. This guide shows you how to set up the order type.
Create the order type
To create a matching order type in DeltaWMS, follow these steps:
In DeltaWMS, click Setup, then click Maintain Accounts.
In the Account Code field, enter the appropriate account code, then press Tab to load the account details.
Click Order Types in the bottom right of the screen.
In the Order Type Code field, enter the channel name from Mintsoft. If the channel name is longer than 12 characters, enter the first 12 characters only.
In the System Area field, enter GO.
Your new order channel is now set up. You don't need to select the Back Order or Allow Over Dispatch options.
⚠️ Important: Do not enable the Back Order checkbox. If back orders are enabled on a Mintsoft order type, orders may reactivate back into the Outstanding Order Pool after they have been dispatched. If you are seeing orders return to the pool after dispatch, check the order type in Setup → Maintain Accounts → Order Types and ensure the Back Order checkbox is unticked.
Set up a haulier or courier service for Mintsoft
When Mintsoft sends a haulier or courier code to Delta, it only sends the first 8 characters of the code (including spaces). This is Delta's character limit for haulier codes.
If a haulier with that exact 8-character code doesn't already exist in Delta, orders using that courier will fail to process correctly.
To set this up correctly:
In Mintsoft, check the full name of the courier service you want to use.
Take the first 8 characters of that name (including any spaces) — this is the code Mintsoft will send to Delta.
In DeltaWMS, check whether a haulier with that exact code already exists.
If it doesn't exist, create a new haulier record in Delta using that 8-character code.
📌 Example: If the courier service in Mintsoft is called 'RM Parcel', Mintsoft will send the code 'RM Parce' to Delta (8 characters including the space). You would need to create a haulier in Delta called 'RM Parce'.
