Overview
The 'Control By' field determines how DeltaWMS manages stock for a product. This field cannot be edited directly through the product screen because changes can significantly affect stock management across the system. This article explains why the field is locked and how to request a change if needed.
Why the field is greyed out
The 'Control By' setting controls how the system uses stock for all operations. This field is locked by design to prevent accidental changes that could cause system-wide issues with stock management and reporting.
Request a change to the 'Control By' field
You can request support to change this setting if specific conditions are met.
Before you request a change:
⚠️Important: The product must have zero stock in the system before this setting can be changed. Any existing stock will prevent the change.
