Overview

When creating a Pre-Receipt import in Excel, you might see the error 'Run-time error '76': Path not found'. This happens when Excel cannot locate the folder to create the file in. There are two common causes for this error, and we'll help you resolve both.

Check folder access

The most common cause is missing folder access or an incorrect file path. Follow these steps to verify your folder configuration.

  1. Open Excel and go to the Import Locations tab at the bottom of your workbook.

  2. Find the hyperlink to the folder that imports Pre-Receipts into Delta.

  3. Check the file path is correct. For example: \\SERVER\DeltaWMS\Import\PreReceipt

  4. Contact your IT team if you need help finding the correct Windows import folder file path.

  5. Verify you have permissions to access this folder and save files to it.

  6. Contact your IT team if you need access permissions.

  7. Try creating the Pre-Receipt import again.

โš ๏ธImportant: You need both access permissions to the folder and permissions to save files into this location.

Check the Purchase Order number

If you still see the error after checking folder access, the issue might be with your Purchase Order number format.

  1. Check if your PO number contains a forward slash ('/') or backslash ('').

  2. Remove any slashes from the PO number if present.

  3. Try creating the Pre-Receipt import again.

๐Ÿ“ŒNote: Windows doesn't allow slashes in file names. The Pre-Receipt import process uses the PO number to create the file name, which causes this error when slashes are present.
