RF guns can sometimes freeze during a task, become unresponsive, or cause a session conflict where logging in on one device immediately logs out another user. This article covers how to resolve these issues.
RF gun frozen mid-task
If an RF gun stops responding during a task such as picking, putaway, or a stock movement:
Do not attempt to process the same transaction again. This may create duplicate records.
Power the RF gun off completely and turn it back on.
Log back in to DeltaWMS and check whether the task has cleared.
If the task is still showing as in progress, contact support. Do not re-scan or re-confirm the transaction.
⚠️ Important: If the RF gun froze during a stock movement, picking task, or goods receipt, do not process the same transaction a second time. Contact support and we will check the transaction records and resolve the issue safely.
Logging in kicks off another user (session conflict)
If a user logs in to DeltaWMS on an RF gun and this immediately logs out another user, or if the same device appears to be logged in under multiple users:
Ask all affected users to log out of DeltaWMS on their RF guns.
Wait 30 seconds, then log back in one device at a time.
If the conflict persists, restart the RF gun by powering it off and on again before logging back in.
If the issue affects multiple guns or continues after restarting, contact support.
If the issue keeps recurring
If RF guns freeze or session conflicts occur repeatedly, this may indicate a problem with the Delta Telnet Server or the Staylinked server. Contact support and include the following information:
How many RF guns are affected.
Whether the issue affects all sites or a specific site.
A description of the task being performed when the freeze occurred.
Whether the issue is intermittent or constant.
