Duplicate Barcode message when entering a barcode

Steps to identify which product is using a barcode and resolve duplicate barcode errors in Delta.

Overview

Barcodes in Delta must be unique across all products. If you see the error message 'Duplicate Barcode' when entering a barcode, this means the barcode already exists in the system. This article explains how to find which product is using the barcode and how to resolve the issue.


Find the product using the barcode

When you see the duplicate barcode error, you can quickly identify which product is using that barcode in the Product Maintenance section.

  1. Go to the Product Maintenance home screen.

  2. Copy the barcode into the Product Code field.

  3. Press the Tab key on your keyboard.

The product associated with this barcode will load.


Remove the barcode from the product

Once you've identified the product, check if the barcode is correctly associated with it. If the barcode is incorrect or needs to be moved to a different product, you can remove it.

  1. Go to the Unit of Measure section.

  2. Remove the barcode.

  3. Click Save.

You can now enter the barcode on the correct product.
