Overview:

From time to time, your RF guns may lose connection to Delta. The most common error message that may be seen is:

Connection could not be established

Connection timeout.

For On-Premise customers (who use DeltaWMS on their own servers on site)

If you find that you are getting any of the above errors, it could be because your Delta Telnet Server service may need rebooting, or has failed to start up following a server reboot.

In order to reboot the service, please follow the steps below. You may need your IT team to do this:

  1. Log on to the server where the RF scanners are installed.

  2. Open up Services

  3. Make sure all users are off the scanners and delta.

  4. Find the COM+ System Application, right-click on this and select Stop.

  5. Once shut down, find COM+ System Application, right-click on this and select Start.

  6. Find the Delta Telnet Server, right-click on this and select Stop.

  7. Once shut down, find the Delta Telnet Server, right-click on this and select Start.

Once you have done this, please reboot your RF guns. If you find this doesn't work, please do raise this with support, confirming what you have already tried, including a photo of what you are seeing on the RF guns.

For Access Hosted customers (Cloud & Evo)

If you are getting similar errors on the RF guns, support will need to investigate further, with a view to rebooting the Telnet service.

Therefore, please raise this with support, including a photo of what you are seeing on the RF guns, and whether this is affecting all sites or a particular site.
