Overview

You can run the goods-in receipting process on a laptop or tablet instead of an RF device. This allows you to view more details on a larger screen. You'll need IT assistance to configure this setup.

⚠️Important: This configuration works when you're connected to your network (for example, in the office). If you're working remotely, the connection may not work due to VPN or firewall restrictions.

Configure Telnet Client

To set up goods-in receipting on your laptop or tablet, you'll need to install and configure Telnet Client.

Install Telnet Client

You may need administrator permissions to complete this step.

  1. Open Windows Features.

  2. Select the Telnet Client checkbox.

  3. Click OK.

Windows installs Telnet Client on your machine.

Configure the desktop shortcut

Your IT team will need to create a desktop shortcut that connects Telnet Client to your RF server.

The shortcut must be configured as follows:

  1. Create a desktop shortcut for Telnet Client.

  2. Open the shortcut properties.

  3. Update the Target field with your RF server's IP address or server name and port number.

Once configured, you can use the shortcut to access the goods-in receipting process on your laptop or tablet.

πŸ€“Tip: We recommend asking your IT team to set up this configuration using the information provided in this article.
