Overview

Some users are getting the following SQL Error when they try to use any part of the Delta Plugin, within Dimensions.

Dimensions was not able to log on to the Delta warehouse database, DeltaWMS.
The error retrieved from the server was:
IM002:[Microsoft][ODBC Drive Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified

Why does this error occur, and how can I fix this?

This error occurs when the ODBC Driver specified to connect to the Dimensions Database does not match the ODBC Driver specified in the Delta Plugin Settings.

To check which ODBC Driver should be used/named for the Delta Plugin to work, in Dimensions:

  1. Click System, Options, Stock Options

  2. On the Stock Options window, click Plug-Ins, Access Delta WMS, General Settings

  3. On the Access Delta Settings, 'Connection' tab, you will see the Data source name

  4. It is this Data source name which must match the ODBC Driver used on logon to Dimensions.

How to check the ODBC Driver used to log onto Dimensions

To check the ODBC Driver used to log on to Dimensions, follow the steps below:

  1. First, log out and exit Dimensions

  2. Open Dimensions again, and on the Logon window, click the More >> button

  3. You will then see ODBC Data Link, and the Data Source Name will appear in the box

You may therefore need to configure a new ODBC connection on this PC that matches the Data source name from the Access Delta Settings 'Connection' tab (mentioned above)
